The LX-HF Marathon is an internal RL activity available for RL Members with an LX callsign.

L’association „Radioamateurs du Luxembourg“ (RL) invite tous ses membres à participer à l’édition 2024 du LX HF Marathon. N’oubliez pas de nous envoyer votre log de 2024 jusque fin janvier 2025.

Catégories de participation

Le participant peut choisir entre trois options:

  1. Formula class

Le participant qui choisit cette option ne pourra utiliser que des antennes simples (antennes verticales simples, dipôles simples ou multi bandes, G5RV, etc.)

Les antennes rotatives (Yagis, quads) ne sont pas permises dans cette catégorie.

Puissance entre 10 Watts et 100 Watts.

  • Unlimited class

Dans cette catégorie il n’y a pas de restriction d’antennes ni de puissance à part celles imposées par la licence de l’opérateur.

  • Youth Class
  • Cette catégorie s’adresse aux jeunes opérateurs n’ayant pas encore atteint l’âge de 30 ans le 01.01.2024.
  • Pas de restriction d’antennes ni de puissance à part celles imposées par la licence de l’opérateur.

Modes

Le participant peut choisir parmi les trois modes suivants:

  1. CW
  2. PHONE
  3. DIGI

Bandes

Toutes les bandes amateurs entre 10m et 160m (excepté relais et Echolink)

Période

Pendant toute l’année à partir du 1er janvier au 31 décembre.

Points

  • Chaque pays (DXCC) contacté compte un point, chaque CQ-Zone compte un point.
  • Le total est la somme du nombre de pays (DXCC) et du nombre de CQ-zones.
  • Il n’y a pas de multiplicateurs, chaque pays (DXCC) et chaque CQ-zone compte seulement une fois. Un seul QSO peut donc compter comme pays et comme DX-ZONE.
    Par exemple: Si vous contactez pendant toute l’année 238 pays et 37 CQ-zones votre score sera de 275 points.
  • La liste de référence des pays (DXCC) et des CQ-Zones peut être trouvée sur le site web: https://dxmarathon.com/resources/countries/
  • En cas d’égalité de points, dans une catégorie, le participant qui aura effectué le plus de contacts pendant l’année sera déclaré vainqueur.

La soumission du log informatique

  • Le fichier électronique (format ADIF) est à envoyer à : contest@rlx.lu jusqu’au 31.01.2025.
  • Le fichier ADIF à envoyer devra être nommé selon la catégorie choisie, soit :
    Formula_LX1zzz.adi ou Unlimited_LX1zzz.adi
  • Le participant qui aura choisi cette classe devra joindre à son courriel, une description des antennes utilisées pour le Marathon.
  • Le log électronique sera contrôlé et évalué par le Contest Manager.
  • La référence pour le contrôle sera le logiciel „ADIF to CQ DX Marathon“ à trouver sur le web :
    ADIF to CQ DX Marathon (ad1c.us)
  • Le score final sera publié au Site web du RL.

Trophées

  • Aux gagnants de chaque catégorie, un trophée sera remise personnellement à l’Assemblée Générale du RL.
  • Au cas où un participant est gagnant dans 2 modes (CW / Phone / Digi), une seule plaque ou coupe mentionnant « winner all modes » lui sera attribuée.
  • En participant à ce concours, le participant s’engage à respecter le règlement, les conditions de son autorisation et les règles de courtoisie en usage entre les radioamateurs.
  • La vérification de logs, des ajustements, disqualifications, etc. seront décidés par le comité du RL. Chaque décision prise par le comité sera définitive.

Categories of Entry

An entrant may choose one of three options:

1. Formula class

  • For operators who choose this option, antennas must be non-rotatable antennas with a single element per band such as verticals, dipoles, multi-band dipoles, doublets, G5RVs, Windom’s, bend-fed wires, loops, etc.
  • Yagis, quads and rotatable dipoles may not be used in this category
  • Power 10watts to max 100 watts.

2. Unlimited class

  • Any antenna may be used, along with any power level for which the operator is licensed.

3. Youth Class

  • For young operators who are less than 30 years old on 01.01.2024.
  • Any antenna may be used, along with any power level for which the operator is licensed.

Modes

An entrant may choose one of three options:

  1. CW
  2. PHONE
  3. DIGI

Bands

All amateur bands between 10m and 160m with the exception of relays and Echolink.

Period

Throughout the year from January 1st to December 31st.

Scoring

  • Each country worked is worth one point. Each CQ zone worked is worth one point.
  • The total score is the sum of zones and countries worked.
  • There are no multipliers, each country and zone count only once.
    A single QSO may count for both a country and a zone.
    For example: If in the course of the year you work 238 countries and 37 zones, your score is 275.
  • The CQ DX Countries List and the CQ Zone List constitute the official lists.

  • In case of tiesthe operator with the most contacts during the period will be judged the winner.

Electronic log submission

  • The file (ADIF format) must be sent as an attachment to contest@rlx.lu before 31.01.2025
  • The ADIF file has to be named according to the chosen category:
    Formula_LX1zzz.adi or Unlimited_LX1zzz.adi or Youth_LX1zzz.adi
  • The operator must provide in his mail a detailed description of the antenna used in the Marathon.
  • The log will be evaluated and checked by the Contest manager.
  • Reference for the calculation: „ADIF to CQ DX Marathon“

  • The final scores will be published on the RL Website.

Trophies

  • Trophies are awarded to the participant occupying the first place of each category.
  • Trophies will be delivered personally in the General Meeting of the R.L. In the case of a participant qualifying for more than one plaque or trophy, that participant will receive one trophy with a special mention: “Winner All Modes”. (example: CW / Phone / Digi)
  • By taking part in this contest, the entrant agrees to respect not only the rules of the contest itself and the national legislation, but also to uphold the HAM Code of Conduct.
  • The decisions taken by the RL Board will be final.
